Air New Zealand is stroller-friendly on jet services, allowing compact pushchairs in the cabin if they fit within 55x40x23 cm. Gate check is free and your stroller is returned at the aircraft door. The catch: turboprop flights (NZ5000-NZ5999) require you to check strollers at the counter, and staff may ask you to gate-check on full flights.

Air New Zealand is straightforward with car seats. They accept any child restraint with an FAA or EASA certification label, and both forward and rear-facing are allowed. Seating options are flexible too, including window seats, middle of centre rows, and the Economy Skycouch. Infants under 2 must use a car seat if they have their own seat.

Air New Zealand bans all inflatable toddler beds and leg rest devices, including Fly Tot, Plane Pal, JetKids BedBox, and multi-use travel pillows. Bassinets available on 777-300 and 787-9 aircraft in Economy. Measures 74x34 cm, max weight 11.8 kg. Pre-allocated first come, first served for infants up to 8 months. Comes with sheets, pillows, and blankets.

Infant meals available on long-haul flights (not Tasman or Pacific routes), order 24 hours before departure. Limited formula and pre-prepared baby food available onboard.

Families with infants receive priority boarding on all flights.

One stroller and one car seat per infant checked free on all flights.

Domestic and Tasman flights charge around 10% of adult fare. International long-haul also 10% of adult fare plus taxes.

Air New Zealand does not offer complimentary strollers at the airport.
