Virgin Australia is one of the more generous Australian carriers for families with strollers. Compact pushchairs that fit cabin dimensions (56x36x23 cm, 8 kg) can come onboard, though they replace your standard carry-on bag. Gate check is free, and you can check up to three infant items including your pram on domestic and short-haul international flights.

Virgin Australia accepts car seats onboard with some weight-based rules. Rear-facing is limited to children under 9 kg, forward-facing up to 18 kg. You will need to install the seat yourself using the aircraft seatbelt only, so top-tether models will not work. Seating restrictions apply: no aisle seats, no exit rows.

Virgin Australia is one of the best Australian airlines for sleep devices. They explicitly allow Plane Pal, Fly Tot, and JetKids BedBox during cruise, though you must stow everything for taxi, takeoff, and landing. The inflatable valve must face the aisle. This is a standout policy compared to many Australian carriers that ban these devices entirely.

Virgin Australia does not provide bassinets on any aircraft. They compensate by allowing certain comfort devices like Plane Pal, Fly Tot, and JetKids BedBox.
