Traveling with the Britax B-Safe Gen2
Getting through the airport
At 4.5 kg (4.5 kg), the B-Safe Gen2 is on the heavier side for infant carriers but still manageable. It clicks into Britax strollers directly and works with other brands via adapters. The European-style carry handle sits flush when lowered, which can make it slightly harder to grip compared to more upright handles. A travel cart is recommended for longer airport walks.
Using it on board
The B-Safe Gen2 measures 43.2 cm wide and fits standard economy seats well. It installs rear-facing with the aircraft seat belt routed through the base-free belt path. The harness features a no-rethread design that adjusts with the headrest. Parents find installation straightforward, though the belt routing on Britax seats can feel slightly different from competitors.
Good to know
This seat is FAA-certified for US flights but does not carry EASA approval, so European airlines may not accept it for in-seat use. If your travel is primarily within North America, it is a solid choice. The steel frame adds durability but contributes to the higher weight. The SafeWash fabric cover removes easily and is machine washable, which is a real plus for travel spills.
