Traveling with the Britax Boulevard ClickTight
Getting through the airport
At 13.34 kg (13.34 kg) and 47 cm wide, the Boulevard ClickTight is a heavy, bulky seat to haul through an airport. The ClickTight installation system adds convenience in the car but also adds weight. A wheeled travel cart or bag is essential if you plan to carry this any distance. Most parents who travel with it are doing so out of necessity rather than choice.
Using it on board
The 47 cm width means the Boulevard will be a tight squeeze in most economy seats. It installs using the aircraft seat belt, and the ClickTight mechanism is not used on planes. You route the belt through the traditional belt path instead. Parents report it can be done, but the size makes it awkward. Forward-facing is the more practical orientation for airplane installation given the bulk.
Good to know
FAA-certified but firmly in the category of everyday seats that can fly rather than travel seats. The ClickTight system, which is its headline feature, does not help on aircraft since you use the belt path. Britax build quality and safety ratings are excellent, but the weight and width penalty is steep for travel. Consider this seat for road trips where you drive at the destination and only need to gate-check it for the flight.
