Getting through the airport
The Mint Latch weighs 4.2 kg (4.2 kg) and its standout feature is built-in rigid LATCH connectors. You do not need a base for any installation, whether on a plane, in a rental car, or a taxi. At this weight it is mid-range for an infant seat, but skipping the base saves significant bulk. The seat installs with either the rigid LATCH or the vehicle seat belt.
Using it on board
At 45.1 cm wide, the Mint Latch fits standard economy seats. On aircraft, you install it rear-facing using the lap belt routed through the belt path. The rigid LATCH connectors fold away and do not interfere with airplane installation. FAA-approved, so US airlines will accept it without question.
