Traveling with the Fly LegsUp Kids Pack
Packing and setup
Weighing just 0.67 kg and packing to 30x16x5 cm, the Fly LegsUp Kids Pack is ultralight and barely takes up any carry-on space. Setup involves attaching the hammock around the tray table in front, then inflating a small cushion to fill the gap. The whole process takes about two minutes. It is one of the simplest devices to set up because there are so few components.
Using it in flight
The hammock creates a raised surface that lets smaller children lie semi-flat between the seats. One parent reported their daughter sleeping 10 out of 12 hours on a long-haul flight. The 30 kg weight limit means it works best for children up to about age 5 or 6. Older or heavier kids may find the hammock sags too much. The fabric is comfortable and breathable, and kids can also use it as a play surface during waking hours.
Good to know
Because it attaches to the tray table, crew approval is at their discretion on the day, though parents report it is rarely denied. It must be removed for taxi, takeoff, and landing. It is one of the more affordable dedicated sleep devices available. The main trade-off is the 30 kg weight limit, which is lower than most inflatable cushions. For families with toddlers who fly occasionally, it offers solid value without the bulk of a full inflatable bed.
